CD Projekt Red has announced that the legendary actor will play a key role in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
Charles Dance will voice Emperor Emhyr var Emreis of Nilfgaard in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The game picks up after the events of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings. The Emperor has launched a full scale invasion of the Northern Kingdoms with the results plainly seen throughout the game. His armies ravaged the lands, sowing terror and despair throughout the North.
Charles Dance is best known for his portrayal of Tywin Lannister in HBO’s Game of Thrones. His performance as the menacing Hand of the King has been well received by fans and critics. Hand of the King isn’t too far off from Emperor, which means that Charles Dance should feel right at home as Emperor Emhyr var Emreis.
“Charles Dance is the perfect candidate to play the mighty Nilfgaardian emperor in our upcoming title. It’s a dream come true for the team here at RED to be able to work with such an accomplished actor and magnetic personality,” said Marcin Blacha, Lead Writer for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt builds upon the gameplay and design of the past two titles offering a huge open-world to explore and plenty of monsters to defeat. CD Projekt Red is hard at work creating a beautiful, deep experience that will reward the player for mastering the game’s many mechanics.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is out sometime in 2014 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
