Get ready to play as the Kryptonian General this July in Injustice: Gods Among Us.
Warner Bros. and NetherRealm Studios officially revealed that General Zod would be the final DLC character for Injustice: Gods Among Us at E3 2013. The announcement of Zod confirms that a leaked list of characters was indeed true. Now, players can finish their Injustice: Gods Among Us character collection on July 2.
General Zod was Kryton’s General during the planet’s final days. He led a military coup to overthrow the current rulers in a bold attempt to save the planet, as he believed they were causing its destruction. However, he was stopped by Jor-El and sentenced to prison in the Phantom Zone, but he managed to escape following Krypton’s destruction. He then hunted Kal-El (Superman) all the way to Earth and has clashed with him many times. General Zod’s powers are similar to Superman’s, though he does make use of gadgets and appears to be more calculated than Superman.
Warner Bros. have also announced a brand new skin for Superman based on Henry Cavill’s appearance in Man of Steel. It will be available for purchase separately. At this point in time it is unknown if General Zod, Batman, Joker or Bane will get skins based on the likenesses of Michael Shannon, Christian Bale, Heath Ledger or Tom Hardy.
General Zod will be made available for download July 2 on PSN and Xbox Live. All of the DLC will be released for the Wii U version of Injustice: Gods Among Us sometime this Summer. Check out General Zod in action below:
