Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment have unveiled Titanfall, for Microsoft’s Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
“The visionaries at Respawn have drawn inspiration from their proven experience in first-person action gaming, and are building on that pedigree by taking a new approach to game design and creating an all-new universe with Titanfall,” reads the press release.
Announced during Microsoft’s E3 2013 press conference, Titanfall is the first title from Respawn Entertainment, of which is comprised of Call of Duty veterans.
Titanfall consists of entirely multiplayer action, combining fast-paced competitive play with heroic set piece moments traditionally only found in single-player experiences.
Set in a distant frontier crippled by war, Titanfall boasts the ability to switch between fighting as elite assault Pilots or agile, heavy-armored, 24-foot tall Titans.
There’s no doubt that Microsoft is putting incredible emphasis on exclusive content going into the next-generation with Xbox One, having announced partnerships with Capcom for Dead Rising 3, Insomniac Games for Sunset Overdrive and Crytek for Ryse: Son of Rome. It’s going to be an interesting year, to say the least.
Titanfall is scheduled for release on Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC in 2014. Be sure to check out the trailer below for what is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated titles to come out of this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo.
