The PS4 design is still a mystery and Sony is hard at work teasing us.
Sony unveiled the PS4 at a special press conference back in February. It was an exciting event that teased the future of PlayStation by showing off some of the tech specs, the redesigned Dualshock 4 controller and a number of games. What was missing was the box design. Many critics blasted Sony for leaving the design out, but the mystery has been building up since that day. Now, Sony is teasing us.
Sony has released a teaser trailer that has the box in it. The image is extremely blurry with a couple close-ups on the device. The trailer ends with the date 6/10/2013 6pm PDT, which is the time and date of Sony’s E3 2013 press conferences.
This trailer comes a day before Microsoft’s Next Xbox reveal where they will reveal their entry into the eighth-generation of consoles. It is unknown if Microsoft will show the design for the Next Xbox at their reveal, but they kind of have to after Major Nelson tweeted about Sony not showing the box during the reveal.
The PS4 is Sony’s entry into the eighth-generation of consoles and will launch Holiday 2013 where it will compete with Nintendo’s Wii U and Microsoft’s Next Xbox. Sony is expected to reveal the box, the price, the launch titles and the launch date at their E3 2013 press conference on June 10. Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Battlefield 4, Call of Duty: Ghosts, inFamous: Second Son, Killzone: Shadow Fall and Watch Dogs are believed to be launch titles.
