Company of Heroes 2 moved back to June after SEGA’s acquisition of Relic
Company of Heroes 2

Company of Heroes 2 will be available on June 25 in both North America and Europe, SEGA has announced.

Originally scheduled for release earlier in the year, Relic Entertainment is utilizing the extra development time to help Company of Heroes 2 meet the “high standard set by its predecessor”. This comes after SEGA’s recent acquisition of Relic Entertainment, formerly Company of Heroes was scheduled to be released by THQ before bankruptcy.

“Our acquisition by SEGA has given us the chance to work with a new partner that has a great track record of working with long standing PC franchises, It gives us great confidence to know that we have a well aligned team working to bring the best experience we can to gamers around the world” said Jonathan Dowdeswell, Executive Producer of Company of Heroes 2.

Powered by Relic’s proprietary Essence 3.0 Engine, Company of Heroes 2 brings tactical strategy to life like never before.

“We hate to disappoint our fans with a later than expected date as we know they are eager to play but we feel that the additional time will help the team deliver the high quality sequel fans deserve” adds Greg Wilson, Producer of Company of Heroes 2.

Though, it won’t be long before players can get their eager hands on the forthcoming sequel, with a Closed Beta scheduled to arrive ahead of its release this June. More details are expected to “follow shortly.”

Company of Heroes 2 is out June 25 in North America and Europe exclusively on PC.
