Ed Boon has tweeted an image for Injustice: Gods Among Us which hints at three possible new playable characters.
Injustice: Gods Among Us is the upcoming DC Universe fighter that pulls characters popular and obscure from the universe as playable characters. However, the game has been criticized by some for having too many Batman characters. Batman, Nightwing, The Joker, Harley Quinn, Bane and Catwoman are already a lot, but it looks like there may be more.
Ed Boon, the Creative Director at NetherRealm, has Tweeted a new picture for Injustice: Gods Among Us showcasing Killer Croc grabbing The Flash’s head with The Riddler and The Penguin watching in the background. It appears that all three’s appearances look to be based off their Batman: Arkham Asylum/City designs. If these characters are truly playable this will bring the total of Batman characters to nine. Superman is the only other character to have multiple characters for their franchise, and he only has one other (Lex Luthor). It is possible that all three of these characters just make cameos so take this with a grain of salt until NetherRealm clarifies.
Injustice: Gods Among Us features an original story where The Joker unleashes a huge bomb on Metropolis, which leaves the city leveled. Superman snaps and gathers other Super powered heroes and forms a totalitarian government. However, Batman gathers gadget-based heroes to rebel against Superman and his allies.
Injustice: Gods Among Us is out April 16 in North America and April 19 in Europe for PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii U.
