Gloin joins the fray in Guardians of Middle-Earth
Gloin in Guardians of Middle-Earth

Guardians of Middle-Earth is getting more The Hobbit themed DLC in the form of Gloin.

Guardians of Middle-Earth players on Xbox 360 can get Gloin now through Xbox Live. A release date for PS3 via PSN has not been announced yet.

For those who don’t know their Middle-Earth history, Gloin was one of the twelve dwarves who set out with Thorin III Oakenshield, Gandalf the Grey and Bilbo Baggins to reclaim the kingdom of Erebor from the dragon Smaug. He is also the father of Gimli who was an instrumental character in the War of the Ring (though he is not a playable hero in Guardians of Middle-Earth). Gloin is the latest DLC character for the game based on the recent The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey film.

Guardians of Middle-Earth broke ground when it released in December by becoming the first MOBA to ever be released for consoles. Review scores were generally good and sales appeared to be pretty strong. The Guardians of Middle-Earth Season Pass grants players access to eight of the DLC characters and a bonus game mode at no additional cost. This Gloin DLC will be a part of the Season Pass.

Also, for those PS3 owners, Guardians of Middle-Earth is free between February 4 and March 4 for PlayStation Plus members. Every month a full game is offered for free to subscribers and the month of February is all about Guardians of Middle-Earth.

Guardians of Middle-Earth is out now for PS3 and Xbox 360. The retail edition of the game does include the Season Pass. Check out the trailer for Gloin below:
