Those mysterious game day ads have led us to a live action trailer for God of War: Ascension.
The trailer has been confirmed by Sony to be airing during the Super Bowl February 3. It is still unknown when the trailer will air during the Super Bowl. If you don’t live in North America, or are unable to view the trailer then you can breath a sigh of relief and check it out below.
God of War: Ascension takes place six months after Ares tricked Kratos into murdering his family. He was imprisoned and tortured by the Furies before escaping and vowing to kill Ares. God of War: Ascension is chronologically the first title in the franchise’s timeline, though this is the sixth title in the franchise.
The live action trailer is a flashback showcasing Kratos’ wife and daughter. Kratos is leading an army off to war, but his daughter chases him. Kratos picks her up and smiles, but then things go wrong as she turns to ash and becomes part of his skin. The world around him dies and he is left alone to face an army. Its actually a pretty touching ad that will resonate with God of War fans, but it is unknown if Super Bowl viewers will get what the advertisement is for.
God of War: Ascension is out March 12 in North America and March in Europe exclusively for PS3. A single player demo will be released this month. Check out the live action Super Bowl ad below:
