The Wii U is taking a pounding when it comes to third-party games with Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 being the latest title not receiving a Wii U port.
MercurySteam has crushed any hope of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 coming to the Wii U. On Twitter, a fan asked whether the game would be coming to the Wii U. MercurySteam’s Dave Cox responded that there is, “no chance,” of the game coming to Nintendo’s latest system.
This marks another blow to the Wii U, which is suffering from a lack of games in 2013. Currently, only two major third-party titles are scheduled to release on the console; Injustice: Gods Among Us and Aliens: Colonial Marines. Other third-party titles have either been confirmed as not coming to the Wii U, or their publishers won’t give a straight answer.
This news also comes a day after Nintendo President Iwata revealed that Wii U sales are not as strong as they can be. It is also a day after Crytek revealed that Crysis 3 isn’t coming to Wii U due to a lack of ‘business drive’ for EA, the publisher. MercurySteam hasn’t revealed the exact reason why Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 won’t be coming to the Wii U, though its possible that Konami has the same reason as EA.
Nintendo fans will still get some Castlevania love through the upcoming 3DS interquel Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate. This title is exclusive to the 3DS.
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 is out sometime in 2013 for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
