Sony launches new ad campaign for PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale

Three mysterious teaser trailers have led to the unveil of a new ad campaign for Sony’s upcoming brawler.

The trailer is reminiscent of last year’s “Michael” trailer where the characters are portrayed as real and the player is directly interacting with them. Nathan Drake, Sackboy, Cole and Kratos make an appearance.

The trailer opens with the receptionist at her desk. Nathan Drake drives up in his jeep and is led down the hallway by the receptionist. She opens an arena for him where he is quickly accosted by Kratos’ Blades of Exile. From behind, Drake is shocked by Cole and they both quickly get into a brawl until Kratos shows back up. Drake flings a gas container and both Sackboy and Cole shoot at it, and it explodes in Kratos’ face. The player controlling Kratos then steps into the frame and promises the God of War to play better.

This shoots down numerous rumors that popped up since the original teaser hit. Many had hoped that inFamous 3 would be announced, and others were hoping more characters to be revealed. SuperBot has confirmed the 20 characters revealed are the launch roster, though retailers and the developer’s own site still say that there are “over 20″ characters in the game.

A public beta for All-Stars is currently under way and allows players a taste of what is to come. Currently, the beta is only live for PlayStation Plus subscribers on PS3, but should become available for everyone this week. The PS Vita beta is available for everyone.

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale is out November 20 in North America and November 21 in Europe for PS3 and PS Vita. Check out the trailer below:
