Assassin’s Creed III for the PS3 is getting some pretty neat story content, and it is exclusive to the platform.
Announced on the PS Blog, the exclusive content that has been teased for a few months has finally been revealed. PS3 owners will get to take on a 4-mission story arc where George Washington tasks players with exposing Benedict Arnold’s schemes of overthrowing West Point. Connor will work undercover to gain Benedict Arnold’s trust to expose that secret. It will all culminate with a British assault on the fort.
Benedict Arnold was a respected general in the Continental Army and his attack at Saratoga convinced the French to aid the colonists. However, he fell in love with a Loyalist and became a spy for the British army. He was discovered and forced to flee. According to history, Arnold disappeared and was never seen again. This gives Ubisoft ample material to work with.
To this day, Benedict Arnold’s name is synonymous with deceit and treachery.
Assassin’s Creed III is the third main entry in the Assassin’s Creed franchise and will complete the story of Desmond Miles. The game also introduces Connor, a half-British and half-Native American assassin whose village was burned down by Templars.
Ubisoft has been treating PS3 owners well. The past few Assassin’s Creed games have all contained exclusive content that is only available on Sony’s console. These story missions are sure to be a great treat.
Assassin’s Creed III is out October 30 in North America and October 31 in Europe for PS3 and Xbox 360. The PC version is out November 20 in North America and November 23 in Europe.
