Rocksteady stu­dios have been pil­ing on the vil­lains for Arkham City. The game already has a stun­ning list of vil­lains includ­ing the Joker, Harley Quinn, Two-Face, Hugo Strange, and Black Mask among many oth­ers. Now, Rocksteady has announced the next vil­lain who is sure to put ice in your heart.

Dr. Victor Fries, oth­er­wise known as Mr. Freeze, the vil­lain who har­nesses ice is the latest bad guy to cross paths with Batman in the game.

Judging by the game, he seems to have more of a stealth focus. Rather than fight­ing him out­right, Batman is forced to hide and pounce at the right moment or risk being turned into a block of ice. He is also seen demand­ing Nora (his wife) from Batman.

Thankfully, he is not voiced by Arnold Schwarzenegger. He also appears to not be fol­lowed by hench­men wear­ing Ice Skates. These prob­lems were shown off in 1997’s Batman and Robin, the film that killed the Batman film fran­chise for ten years before Christopher Nolan revived it with Batman Begins.

Batman: Arkham City is sched­uled for release on October 18 in North America and on October 21 in Europe for PS3, 360 and PC. Additionally, the game will see a release on Nintendo’s Wii U some­time in 2012.
