Warner and Rocksteady have announced that Catwoman is a fully playable character in the upcoming sequel to 2009’s Batman: Arkham City, while also realising a trailer and screenshots to accompany the announcement.
As Catwoman, players will have the chance to “indulge their darker side and explore Arkham City as the infamous feline femme fatale.” She’ll be fully fledged with her own storyline in the main game, Catwoman’s adventure complements Batman’s central role and is seamlessly integrated with his main story arc. She will also be playable during the challenge maps with her own unique combat moves, gadgetry and signature “takedowns”.
Batman: Arkham City builds upon the intense, atmospheric foundation of Batman: Arkham Asylum by sending players into Arkham City, the new maximum security “home” for all of Gotham City’s thugs, gangsters and insane criminal masterminds. Set inside the heavily fortified walls of a sprawling district, this “highly anticipated sequel introduces a brand-new story that draws together a new, all-star cast of classic characters and murderous villains from the Batman universe, as well as a vast range of new and enhanced gameplay features to deliver the ultimate experience as the Dark Knight.”
Arkham City will release on October 18 in North America and on October 21 in Europe for PS3, 360 and PC. Check out the trailer and screenshots below.
