PSP Topples 3DS In Japan

Nintendo’s newest handheld managed to hold onto to the top spot 4 weeks in a row, but lost out this week due to a new PSP release.

Who would’ve thought it possible that another release of Final Fantasy IV would top the software charts. Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection debuted last week in Japan to strong sales and managed to knock down Dynasty Warriors 7. Check out the full sales below:

On the hardware front, Sony’s portable just keeps chugging along. The PSP managed to overthrow the 3DS for the top spot. This could be grave news for Nintendo if Sony’s handheld keeps selling better then its new piece of technology. On the home console front the PS3 continued to dominate. Despite the fact that the 3DS is out, the DS managed to outsell the Wii, 360, and PS2. Now that’s pretty impressive. Check out the full numbers below:
