THQ has announced that upcom­ing third-person shooter Warhammer 40k: Space Marine will release on PC, along­side its release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 next year.

The game prom­ises to fea­ture “intense melee and ranged com­bat” as play­ers take con­trol of one of mankind’s genet­ic­ally engin­eered elite sol­diers.

“The loyal PC audi­ence is incred­ibly import­ant to us here at Relic so we are delighted to be able to announce the PC ver­sion of the game.” said General Manager of Relic, Jonathan Dowdeswell.

Travis Plane, Vice President of Global Brand Management com­men­ted: “Delivering great con­tent the fans want to play is the key goal in the core games divi­sion at THQ so we are pulling out all of the stops to make this the best pos­sible game for PC and con­sole audi­ences alike.”

It’s set to release on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC early next year.
