After many rumors, Hulu has finally been announced for the consoles in the form of Hulu Plus.
The service entitled “Hulu Plus” will arrive on Ps3 sometime this July with the 360 version coming sometime next year. This service is already avaliable on the iPhone, iPod Touch, and the iPad so if you’ve been using them you should have some idea of how it works. The service will allow users to watch content from basically everything ever on TV for a monthly fee of $10.
According to MS, the reason for the delay is to create a customized experience fine-tuned for the 360, a.k.a Kinect integration:
“We are taking the time to ensure that the Hulu Plus experience for Xbox 360 is the best on TV,” said Major Nelson in a statement, “and like our other entertainment experiences, it will not be a port, but rather a custom experience that leverages the Xbox Live community features”.
Sony on the other hand didn’t dive into any specific details, including if users will require PlayStation Plus to get access to the service. With the service called Hulu “Plus” we expect PlayStation “Plus” will be required.
